About Us

Vancouver Island’s Go-To Substance Use & Addiction Treatment Coach

Sareh Tracey is a Board Certified Patient Advocate (BCPA) and non-practicing Registered Nurse (RN) whose goal is to support people on their chosen path to recovery. Sareh’s path wasn’t always so bright. It took some dark situations to help illuminate her life and guide her to where she is today.

In her late teens and early 20s, Sareh began using substances. What started off as recreational use quickly progressed, leading her to desperation and a plummet into addiction. By 21, Sareh was a daily user living in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Thankfully, she was connected to an exceptional group of street nurses that encouraged and empowered Sareh to turn her life around. Her early recovery was full of challenges that ranged from health to financial and legal. With the help of her supportive parents, sober recovery family and counsellors, Sareh was able to create a solid foundation for a new healthy and happy life.

Walking the Road of Long-Last Sobriety

With will and determination, Sareh was able to maintain her sobriety, attend university and start a family. Inspired by the women who had once helped her, Sareh pursued a career in healthcare. After receiving her nursing degree, she started working at detox, treatment centers and recovery houses. It was during her work here that she noticed the healthcare system had large gaps in care and stigmatized people with substance use disorders. She then shifted gears and transitioned into patient advocacy, helping clients navigate our complex health system.

The reason Sareh is so successful in helping people reach their recovery goals is because she works solely for her clients. By listening to their personal recovery goals and values, Sareh can assist clients in being active participants in their own recovery. She is able to recommend interventions and support based on where the client is on the spectrum of addiction. By witnessing and experiencing multiple facets of healing (12-step programs, SMART Recovery, harm reduction and holistic methods), she believes they all have equal value and merit, especially when it is the client’s choice.
